Amr Moussa receives Vatican's ambassador
Egypt-Vatican, Politics, 12/16/1999
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa received Paulo Gigilio, the Vatican's ambassador in Cairo. Gigilio said this meeting comes in the framework of the message in which Pope John Paul II delivers on first day of every January to heads of state and foreign ministers to urge them all to work for peace and stop the wars in the world.
Gigilio said the pope wants everybody to live as brothers without wars and that he insists on resuming the attempts to achieve this goal as well as on love among all, regardless of their colors and religions.
Concerning the pope's visit to Egypt, Gigilio said this topic was tackled during his meeting with Moussa, clarifying that it is still under examination.
