Abed Rabbo: Settlement activities aim at drawing new borders
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 12/16/1999

The Palestinian side asserted in the final status negotiations with Israel the importance of stopping the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian lands in order to have a value for the negotiations concerning the borders between the two sides.

In an interview with the Egyptian Sawt al-Arab radio, Palestinian Minister of information Yasser Abed Rabbo said Israel aims in the settlement expansion to draw up new borders, rather than these stated in UN Security Council resolution 242.

He added that the Palestinian side has a paper concerning the settlement activities in which it said that these activities aim at drawing new borders other than these included in UN Security Council resolution 242, and thus, Israel violates the agreements signed between the two sides, which stated stopping the unilateral procedures.
