Tunisia and Palestinian government renew support for Syria
Tunisia-Palestine, Politics, 12/15/1999
Tunisia and the Palestinian government stated that "any success on the Israeli - Syrian track in the peace process serves the Palestinian cause."
This came in a meeting held yesterday evening by Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Habib Ben Yahia with Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), secretary of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, who arrived in Tunis previously on a short visit.
In a declaration after his meeting with Ben Yahia, Abu Mazen said they discussed the developments confronting the Palestinian cause, especially the final status negotiations and the obstacles confronting progress, the most prominent of which is related to the Israeli settlements.
