Different reactions by Sudanese opposition toward the latest developments
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 12/15/1999

The Sudanese opposition's reactions varied toward the internal situation in the country as opposition Ummah Party leader and former Prime Minister El-Sadek El-Mahdi called for convening a national conference to put an end to the Sudanese crisis.

Ibrahim Radwan, a prominent member of the Democratic Unionist Party, expressed his hope that the coming period will witness a complete coordination among all the Sudanese forces in order to reach an agreement satisfying all the parties.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa received Ahmed Abd El-Halim as an ambassador in Cairo, after which the ambassador stated that he discussed with Moussa and his high-ranking assistants the developments in Sudan and that communications took place between the two states' foreign ministers as President Mubarak felt assured of the stability of the situation in Sudan.
