Moroccans of Sahrawi descent stage information campaign in Europe
Morocco, Politics, 12/14/1999

The league of Moroccans of Sahrawi descent living in Europe is preparing a media campaign in the continent to promote knowledge on the Moroccan Sahara issue.

According to the league's chairman, Zini Idriss Moulay Al Mahdi, the league seeks to unify the ranks of Sahrawis living in Europe and to settle problems facing them.

In an interview with Moroccan "Al Munaddama" daily, the league, which claims 700 members, also works to counter the secessionist Polisario propaganda and maneuvers.

Regarding the latest events in Laayoune, he called for self-restraint and wisdom, arguing that anarchy has never been a solution and assured that all problems will be settled under the reign of king Mohammed VI.

He also called the government to extend financial and moral backing to the league to help it fulfill its goals.
