Turkey welcomes resumption of Israeli - Syrian negotiations

Turkey expressed its pleasure for Israel and Syria's readiness to commence the peace negotiations between them, which were stopped in March 1996.
A statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that "Turkey, a supporter of the Middle East Peace Process from the beginning, hopes that through negotiations, either ongoing or to be resumed in all tracks, the Process would soon be completed with success, paving the way to an equitable and comprehensive peace in the region."
