Number of Israelis opposing withdrawal from the Golan increasing

An opinion poll published on Monday by the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot found that the number of Israelis who oppose withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan against establishing peace with Syria has increased in recent days and greatly surpassed the rate of supporters for such a withdrawal.
The paper said that 74% of the persons who took part in the opinion poll announced that they will vote no over the referendum whether they will back a complete withdrawal from the Golan against establishing peace with Syria, a matter which also avail the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from south Lebanon.
The paper added that only 24% of those went under the opinion poll who backed total withdrawal while 2% abstained from giving their opinions. The opinion poll also showed that 66% oppose main withdrawal from the Golan.
Another opinion poll carried out by the same newspaper and was published on Friday indicated that 54% of the Israelis oppose complete withdrawal from the Golan for establishing peace with Syria against 45% who are with establishing peace with Syria.
The two opinion polls were carried out by the independent "Mina Tzimiah" institute. It covered 600 persons.
