Cyprus ready to host peace talks between Syria and Israel

An official at the Cypriot Foreign Ministry on Monday expressed Cyprus' readiness to host peace talks between Syria and Israel, adding that Nicosia will shortly submit an official proposal in this respect to the Syrian and Israeli governments.
The same Cypriot official told Reuters that "Cyprus is an excellent venue for such talks due to its closeness" in being a neutral observer enjoying excellent relations with both countries.
