Newly Elected President of Argentina Invited to Visit Morocco

King Mohammed VI has invited the newly elected president of Argentina, Fernando De La Rua, to pay a state visit to Morocco.
The invitation was extended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mohamed Benaissa, who represented the sovereign at president Rua's swearing-in ceremony.
Benaissa also conveyed to the Argentinean president a written message from the sovereign.
The Moroccan official also conferred with outgoing President Carlos Saul Menem to whom he conveyed a message from King Mohammed VI.
Benaissa conferred with the heads of several delegations who were attending the ceremony, including the presidents of Uruguay Julio Maria Sanguinetti, of Columbia Carlos Pastrana, of Chile Eduardo Frei Ruietagle as well as vice-president of Nicaragua Enrique Bolanos and Prince Felipe of Spain.
The Moroccan delegation also held working sessions with the foreign ministers of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
All delegations voiced a wish to hold regular consultations with Morocco on regional and international issues.
