New phase of relations between Algeria, France

An official source in Algiers said on Sunday that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has agreed to deliver a speech before the French Parliament at the invitation of its speaker, Laurent Fabuis.
The source quoted Fabuis as saying in a message issued in Algiers that Bouteflika will deliver this speech before the French parliamentarians during the first half of the year 2000 on a date which has not set yet. Fabuis expressed in his message his hope that this event will mark the beginning of a new phase of relations between Algeria and France.
