Arafat hails Mubarak's efforts to revive peace process

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat hailed the efforts exerted by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his stable stances toward the peace process, especially on the Palestinian track.
Arafat spoke during the weekly meeting of the Palestinian leadership held last night in Ramallah under his chairmanship of the importance of the Egyptian role in the peace process and reviving Arab solidarity, referring to the Egyptian president's stance, his support for the Palestinian cause and his opposition to the Israeli settlement policy.
The Palestinian leadership asked the Israeli government in the statement issued at the conclusion of the meeting to implement the second stage of withdrawal from the Palestinian lands in negotiations with the Palestinian side in all details concerning maps and areas of withdrawal.
