Egyptian organizations celebrate international volunteer day

Representatives of the Egyptian civil associations convened yesterday in the headquarters of the US embassy in Cairo for the annual celebration of the volunteer day sponsored by the United Nations in Egypt.
Azeeza Hussein head of the national committee of non-governmental organizations for housing and development, said a strong and stable civil society has become badly needed in the modern world, especially during the last two decades "to fulfill our variable social needs and head toward comprehensive development in all fields."
Hussein said that needed services could not be met except through a volunteer core which is considered pivotal for establishing the civil society.
