Moroccan court decides temporary release for Spanish truck driver accused of drug trafficking
Morocco, Judicial, 12/10/1999
A court of Tangiers (northern Morocco) granted Thursday temporary freedom to a Spanish truck driver, accused of drug trafficking, and postponed the trial to next Thursday.
Manuel Trevino was arrested in November as customs agents found 1,379 kg of chira in his Spanish-registered truck loaded with tomatoes and pepper.
Thursday's hearing was attended by scores of Spanish journalists from the print, TV and radio, while Trevino's colleagues rallied in major southern Spanish ports, barring the way of Moroccan products, to support him in the trial.
