Indonesian president to tour Middle East

Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid said on Wednesday he will by the beginning of next year hold a tour that will cover Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian self-rule areas.
He added in a speech at the Indonesian parliament that in the Palestinian territories he will "open an Indonesian trade mission," adding, "Hopefully, we will be able to help our Palestinian brothers in the international trade field."
Wahid's tour, the second in the Middle East since he assumed power in October, will start following Eid al-Fitr.
Last November Wahid conducted a tour which included Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar. He had also visited the UAE, China, Japan and countries in Southeast Asia.
