Issuing a Jordanian verdict on land merchants in the occupied areas
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 12/8/1999
A Jordanian court issued yesterday a one-year prison sentence against four Palestinians carrying Israeli citizenship for forging Jordanian seals and documents to forge transactions of land sales in Jerusalem near Al-Aqsa mosque to Israeli persons.
This verdict was issued in absentia on three suspects and in the attendance of the fourth who is 40 years old and works as a lawyer, while two others were found innocent in this casedue to a lack of evidence against them.
This case came after an increase Palestinians living in Jordan having their lands traded unlawfully in the occupied lands, where land is usually sold to Jews, a matter which led the Jordanian authorities to issue instructions to the specialized fronts not to ratify such assignments to keep the Arab lands in the occupied areas.
