AL chief for good preparation for an Arab summit

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid has asserted that an Arab summit cannot be convened before good preparations for it in order to conclude positive and good results.
He refered to reflections of the second Gulf War are still being the reason for delaying convening an Arab summit.
In a statement to Sawt al-Arab radio on Tuesday, the AL chief added that he had made contacts with leaders and rulers of the Arab Gulf states in a regoinal tour, during which he visited Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, aimed at dealing with current Arab conditions and withstanding challenges against the Arab states.
Abdul Meguid stressed the importance of lifting the suffering of the Iraqi people through lifting the UN sanctions imposed on Iraq.
He also revealed communications being made by the Arab League with Iraq and Kuwait to find a formula to solve the problem of the missing and the captives, paving the way for rectifying the Arab atmospheres.
He stressed the unity of Sudan's people and lands, noting that that the AL is committed to the unity of the unity of the Sudanese north and south and is working to make this objective a reality.
