Iran, Algeria for boosting bilateral relations
Algeria-Iran, Politics, 12/8/1999

High-ranking Iranian sources said that relations between Tehran and Algiers will witness great developments within the coming weeks or months to restore these relations to normalcy.

The Iranian paper al-Wefaq quoted these sources as saying that intensive efforts are made to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries in light of the talks held several days ago in Tehran, on the sidelines of Algeria's participation in the fifth conference of the information ministers of the OIC member states recently held in Iran.

The paper added that certain circles in Tehran are working to take practical and important steps to restore relations and deal with disputes arising between the two countries, especially talks in Tehran and Algeria of restoring full diplomatic relations that have been severed since 1980, will eventually reflect the official Iranian attitude to develop relations with all countries except "the Zionist entity" (Israel).
