Moroccan teachers on strike, government voice surprise
Morocco, Economics, 12/6/1999
Two Moroccan major unions, CDT and UGTM, called Sunday for a two-day strike in the education sector to claim a better material and moral situation. The two unions also want a final solution to problems related to education staff's pensions and taxes.
Following the CDT and UGTM's call, the secondary and technical education department voiced surprise and renewed attachment to dialogue as the best means to settle pending issues.
