Message from Japanese premier to President al-Assad

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Sunday received a message from Japanese Prime Minister Siniheiro Noboro. The message was handed over from Japanese Foreign Minister Keizo Obuchi to Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.
Talks held between al-Sharaa and the Japanese official dealt with several issues relating to the region, developments concerning the Middle East peace process. Talks also dealt with bilateral relations between Syria and Japan and means of developing them.
