Egypt expects 60,000 spectators for celebrations of third millennium
Egypt, Culture, 12/4/1999

Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni told ArabicNews.com that the tickets for the third millenium celebrations before the Giza pyramids are about to be sold out, especially those sold by the Egyptian and foreign tourism companies.

He said that the location takes nearly 50,000 spectators in addition to 15 areas with 500 spectators each (i.e. 60,000) spectators before the pyramids.

He also said that all the funds spent preparing the location have been compensated from the tickets, television marketing, and sponsors, especially with the name of a world-famous musician like Jean Michael Jarre, who chose the name "The 12 Dreams of the Sun" for these celebrations, which will last till the dawn of January 1, 2000.
