Aideed closes Ethiopian opposition offices
Somalia-Ethiopia, Politics, 12/3/1999
Diplomatic sources in Cairo said today that Somali leader Hussein Aideed closed all offices of the Ethiopian opposition groups located in areas under his domination, topped by the offices of Oromo Liberation Front.
Aideed also expelled 108 of the front's members.
This step by Aideed comes in an attempt to improve his relations with Ethiopia following the accusations addressed to him by the Ethiopian authorities of supporting the Ethiopian opposition and asking him to stop supporting groups which carry out sabotage inside the Ethiopian lands.
