Y2K problem will not effect Saudi Arabia's petroleum production
Saudi Arabia-International, Economics, 12/3/1999
Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Venezuela asserted in a statement issued in Riyadh yesterday that their petroleum production will not be affected by the computer problems that could occur at the start of the year 2000, saying that tests and research were conducted concerning this matter to make sure that these countries' production is secure, even in case of problems in the international petroleum industry as a whole.
It added that even if the problem happened, the three countries will tackle the problem in coordination with the other petroleum-producing countries.
The three countries confirmed their stable and strong position toward the stability of the petroleum market so prices will remain stable at the levels of the consumers and producers countries.
