France extends Morocco credit line to purchase cereals
Morocco-France, Politics, 12/2/1999
France has opened for Morocco a new credit line for the purchase of 500,000 tons of wheat and barley, provided for in an agreement reached between the two countries' heads of government in their summit (Nov.5-6).
A statement of the French embassy in Morocco said the new credit line will help Morocco meet food needs left by a bad harvest. Private operators are also entitled to the funds, says the source. In the 98/99 campaign, France was Morocco's first supplier of grain with 1.5 million tons.
