Canadian senate speaker winds up visit to Morocco
Morocco-Canada, Politics, 11/30/1999

The speaker of the Canadian Senate, Gildas L. Molgat, on Monday wound up a visit to Morocco during which he was received by King Mohammed VI.

In a statement to the Moroccan radio, he expressed satisfaction at the outcome of the visit and underlined the enthusiasm prompted by King Mohammed VI among all Moroccans, and particularly among the youth who see in him as the king of changes.

He added that the "fruitful" talks he had with Moroccan officials covered ways of consolidating bilateral cooperation in all areas.

During the visit, Morocco and Canada announced the creation of two friendship and cooperation groups at the Moroccan Chamber of Advisors and the Canadian Senate. The two groups will seek to promote lasting dialogue between the two legislative bodies.
