Qatari - Egyptian meetings in December
Egypt-Qatar, Politics, 11/29/1999

Meetings of the Qatari - Egyptian committee are to convene at the beginning of the coming December under the chairmanship of Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Ben Jabir al-Thani and Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, who will also visit Bahrain.

The Egyptian minister's visit to Doha reflects the improvement of relations between Egypt and Qatar, as Qatari sources expected that the meeting may result in steps toward revitalizing agreements that were signed by the two states in the last meeting of the joint committee held in Cairo in 1996.

Officials from 10 ministries will discuss prospects for cooperation, knowing that the last period witnessed communications between the two states on a high level and focused on the peace process in the Middle East, the Egyptian - Libyan initiative for ending the crisis in Sudan and political coordination.
