Moroccan-Indian joint commission to convene early next year
Morocco-India, Economics, 11/27/1999
The Moroccan-Indian high joint commission will convene by the beginning of the year 2000. The decision was made at a meeting in Rabat on Friday between Moroccan minister of industry, trade and handicraft, Alami Tazi and India's ambassador to Rabat, I.S. Rathore.
The joint commission session will be preceded by a meeting of the technical commission.
The two sides also discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and agreed on the need to give a new momentum to trade exchange.
Trade exchanges between Morocco and India have progressed from $160 million in 1990 to $350 million in 1998, Tazi said, adding however that this level does not match the two countries' aspirations.
