A failed attempt for assassinating former Sudanese president Nimeiri

An armored car broke into the residence of former Sudanese President Jaafar Nimeiri in the Borri area of Khartoum, yesterday. A group of armed persons were in the car and fired toward Nimeiri's house. Nimeiri's personal guards confronted the attackers, which forced them to run away. None of the guards were injured, and the Sudanese security forces immediately surrounded the area and combed it to search for the attackers.
