Jordan-Palestine, Politics, 11/24/1999

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat headed today to Jordan for an official visit during which he will meet with Jordan's King Abdullah II and high-ranking Jordanian officials.

The discussions started after Arafat's arrival at Jordan as the Palestinian ambassador in Amman said the discussions between Arafat and King Abdullah come within joint coordination regarding peace in the area, especially negotiations of the final status.

During his visit to Jordan, Arafat will meet with Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid, who is currently visiting Jordan, to inform him about the peace process' development, the Israeli attitude toward the peace process and the importance of continuing Arab and Islamic aid to Palestine to continue the development process.
