First Lady Mubarak stresses importance of widening health insurance scale

Addressing the closing session of the two-day national conference on the Declaration of the Second Child Decade (2000-2010), Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak stressed the importance of an integrated family where mother enjoys reasonable share of education and father commits to his family for bringing up healthy children.
She added that the conference would help create national awareness of children's issues.
The new decade will focus on the continuity of the policy to develop school curriculum paying great attention to children's creativity. It also includes widening the scale of health insurance to cover children with special needs, provide vaccination against children's diseases and improve medical care and services for remote areas.
The new decade pays great attention to mothers facing hard financial conditions, illiteracy especially in rural areas and protection working children.
Prime Minister Atef Ebeid also addressed the session and stressed his government's commitment to the programs and planes included in the Declaration.
