Shaath accuses Israel of procrastination in implementing its commitment
Palestine, Politics, 11/23/1999

Palestinian Minister of International Cooperation and Planning Nabil Shaath stated that Israel is still procrastinating in implementing the "transitional stage," exploiting the beginning of the final status negotiations.

He warned of manipulation in continuing pressures on the Palestinians in the Lebanese camps saying that Lebanon must be more patient, as it used to be, and, "We will bring back all our sons abroad."

He denied mediation between the Jordanian government and the Palestinian Hamas movement, saying, "We have nothing to do with Hamas and Jordan, yet Jordan has the right to take the proper procedures to protect its country."

He also criticized Hamas' armed operations at a time when the Palestinian government makes negotiations, while Hamas did not perform any struggle role at the time when the Palestinian people took aggressive actions against Israel.
