Qatar bans any activities for Hamas movement leaders
Qatar-Palestine, Politics, 11/23/1999

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani has announced that the four Hamas leaders who were expelled from Jordan to Qatar will be prevented from undertaking any political activities in the Qatari territories.

The chairman of the Hamas movement's political bureau, Khaled Mashaal, its spokesman Ibrahim Ghoshe, and Izzat al-Rashq and Sami Khater, two members of the movement, were expelled to Qatar from Jordan following a joint Qatari- Jordanian consultation over those leaders.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Hamas movement in occupied Palestine, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, on Monday denounced the expulsion of the four Hamas leaders and described the Jordanian decision as "hasty, surprising and as in contradiction with the movement's policy, as the four leaders are of Jordanian nationality."
