Arab sevenfold committee discusses the situation in Somalia

The Arab League started today the meetings of the sevenfold committee concerned the issue of Somalia, which emerged from the Arab League council and is headed by AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid to discuss the developments in Somalia and the Djiboutian initiative, which supports the Egyptian initiative.
The sevenfold committee includes Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan and Djibouti.
The assistant secretary general for the Arab affairs in the AL, Ahmed Bin Hali, said Abdu Meguid addressed the invitation to the seven countries participating in the committee to convene an urgent meeting through which they will be informed of the latest developments regarding the Somali problem and the communications he held with Arab and international officials; the envoy of the United Nations' secretary general; the European Union's envoy, the Djiboutian president's envoy; the current head of the Organization of African Unity, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika; Djibouti's president, the Libyan foreign minister; and the leaders of the Somali factions.
