United Swiss Bank, Merril Lynch: Egypt achieves economic boom in 2000

The United Swiss Bank and international Merril Lynch Foundation said in their report that the year 2000 will witness an Egyptian economic boom following 10 years of the implementation of the economic reform program during which Egypt managed to lay a solid foundation for supporting its economic performance, the matter which ranked it among the emerging markets.
The report added that Egypt succeeded in achieving an annual rate of growth that worth 6%.
The report praised the Egyptian banks for their high performance. It further confirms the analysis of the World Bank's experts that Egypt is qualified in the coming phase to attract more foreign investments in the field of infrastructure and communications.
