Arab initiative to solving the crisis in southern Sudan

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid addressed a message concerning the importance of supporting efforts exerted regarding conformity between IGAD and the Egyptian - Libyan initiatives for reconciliation in Sudan and pushing forward to reach national rapport in Sudan.

He also addressed supporting the efforts exerted by the Sudanese government in this matter to the chairman of the current summit of the Organization of African Unity, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika; the secretary of the African organization, Salem Ahmed Salem; and the current chairman of IGAD organization, Omar Gaila.

Abdul Meguid asserted his adherence to Sudan's unity and safety, refused any external interference, and urged the parties which obstruct the Egyptian - Libyan initiative to work on adjusting their position to reach national rapport in Sudan.
