Abdul Meguid states risks of Israel owning nuclear weapons

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid stated that Israel's insistence on owning nuclear weapons exposes the peace process in the Middle East to serious risks and shakes the balance of power in the area. Abdul Meguid directed a call to Israel to quickly sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty to confirm that elements of power could not make peace and those who own and threaten with nuclear weapons will have contradictary intentions to the political settlement in the area.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has urged Israel more than once to sign n-he no proliferation treaty.
