Arab sports committee draws strategy to back Morocco's World Cup bid
Regional-Morocco, Sports, 11/19/1999
The executive committee of the Arab sports ministers council on Thursday drew a strategy to back Morocco's bid to host the final rounds of the World Cup, 2006.
As part of the strategy, Arab countries will use all their political, economic and sports assets to convince world football decision-makers of the credibility of the Moroccan bid.
The committee will invite internationally-renowned figures to be associated to the promotion of the bid and stage a world-wide media campaign to publicize Morocco's assets.
Morocco, which is bidding to host the World Cup for the third time after 1994 and 1998, is competing this year with South Africa, England, Germany and Brazil.
