Egypt participates in the meetings for combating desert

Egypt is currently participating in the conference of the member states in the agreement for combating desertification., which is being held in Brazil and which will conclude its works on November 26.

Nermin Mourad, the manager of the environment service in the foreign Ministry, said Egypt will participate with a delegation including representatives of environmental affairs, the Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Agriculture, adding that Egypt will display its experiment in combating desertification, including the Toshka project and tate Egypt benefits from modern technology in combating desertification and that it will contribute by conveying its experience to interested countries.

Mourad says that the desertification phenomenon means a land whose productivity decreases due to the increase of the drainage water and the ground water level, adding that Egypt exerts the current intensive efforts concerning this matter.
