130 detained Palestinian children in Israel's prisons
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 11/18/1999
The world organization for defending the children stated that the number of the Palestinian children whom Israel arrested during the current year increased to reach 130.
The organization located in the West Bank said the Israeli army detained in the West Bank 68 children who are aged 6 - 12 since last July, justifying this increase as due to an issuance of the Israeli leader of military instructions that allow children to be detained on charges of throwing stones at the Israeli soldiers.
The organization stated that tens of children were tried, against whom prison sentences were issued that reach 14 months, in addition to imposing financial penalties on them.
