Arabic an official language for Interpol

The general secretariat of the council of the Arab ministers of the interior on Monday welcomed the decision taken by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to adopt Arabic as an official language. The decision was taken at the 68th session of the organization, held in Seoul, South Korea.
The general secretariat of the council of the Arab ministers of the interior considered this decision as a great accomplishment for the Arab states that would help in "making known the Arab voice in this international organization."
The secretariat indicated the memorandum of understanding between the general secretariat of the council of the Arab ministers of the interior and Interpol at the end of last year, which stressed the determination of the two sides to coordinate their efforts to use the Arabic language in the international organization.
