Iraqi-Iranian agreements on pilgrimage visits

Iranian Minister of Commerce Muhammad Shariat-Madari has announced that an agreement was reached with Iraq that provides for 3,000 Iranian visitors to be able every week to visit the holy shrines in Iraq as of November 24.
The Iranian official added upon his return from Iraq following a visit which lasted for several days that he took part in the inauguration of the Baghdad International Fair and that he held talks with several Iraqi officials that dealt with bilateral relations. He said it was also decided to increase the number of Iranian visitors to the holy shrines in Iraq in the future.
The Iranian minister added that the agreements concluded with the Iraqi side came in the context of UN resolutions, especially the oil-for-food agreement.
