Economic reforms in Syria

Monte Carlo radio on Sunday said the following: "Col. Bashar al-Assad, son of the Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, currently visiting Abu Dhabi, has promised to make economic and administrative measures, very shortly in Syria."
The London-based al-Hayat daily quoted Bashar as saying that Syria is making vast strides to get into the third millennium and deal with globalization. He asserted that "precise instructions" were given to the officials to eliminate obstacles and difficulties in this regard.
