Gulf states continue unification steps in defense and commerce

The general secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council announced on Sunday that defense ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states will have a periodical meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday and that the meeting will last for two days.
The GCC general secretariat reported that the defense ministers will discuss several defense issues of concern to the GCC, including increasing the number of the al-Jazira Shield forces, positioned in Hafer al-Batin in Saudi Arabia from 4,000 to 5,000 troops.
Meanwhile the general secretariat said that the ministers of finance and the economy in the GCC will hold a special meeting in al-Ein city, UAE on November 20 and 21 to continue their previous meeting and discuss matters pertaining to the establishment of the customs federation and to the unification of customs fees among the GCC member states.
