British citizen expelled from Kuwait for charges on Islamic class assignment
Kuwait-UK, Local, 11/13/1999
The Kuwaiti dailies issued on Thursday said that a British teacher was expelled from Kuwait after he asked his students to make "a homework" considered as implying "non-believing in the Islamic religion."
The British teacher, who was teaching history in a private school, and whose name was not released, asked his students to write a false message from the prophet Muhammad to the Angel Gabriel, asking him to help him find a job as a prophet, according to the Kuwaiti daily Arab Times.
Kuwaiti Minister of Education Youssef al-Ibrahim said his ministry opened investigations in light of complaints from several parents of the students.
