Canadian company continues working in Sudan

Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mining Awad al-Jaz stated that the Canadian company Talisman has resumed its work in the consortium of companies that implement the petroleum production project in Sudan.
The minister denied certain negative depiction regarding the the future of the company's position in Sudan as being vicious political rumors and that the company will not be affected by it.
This came in radio statements by the Sudanese minister yesterday evening.
Some news agencies said that after the tour of US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to Africa, the Canadian government received negative US remarks regarding the company's activities in Sudan and its cooperation with the Sudanese government.
