FAO earmarks $189,000 for handicraft promotion in Morocco

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization will earmark $189,000 for a program to develop the handicraft sector in Morocco, said the Moroccan handicraft department.
The program that will restructure and consolidate the Moroccan handicraft chambers to better meet the needs of craftsmen as regards quality improvement, design and better access to markets.
The FAO will finance the operation's first stage that consists of drawing a diagnosis for two pilot handicraft chambers, defining their mission and identifying needs. The Moroccan government will then take over, with a budget of $700,000, to generalize the experience.
