Youssoufi sees Morocco-Algerian relations in delicate period
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 11/12/1999
Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi said relations between Morocco and Algeria are going through a delicate period.
In an interview with "Radio-Orient," the prime minister deplored that a time where some optimism prevailed following an exchange of messages between the late King Hassan II and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and following Bouteflika's visit to Rabat to attend the funeral of the late king and the talks he held with King Mohammed VI, everybody was surprised by the Algerian president's negative discourse.
He added Morocco has opted for restraint and decided not to react, hoping that the Algerian president would reconsider his position.
