King Hussein's name given to a street in Paris
Jordan-France, Politics, 11/12/1999
The French ambassador in Amman, Bernard Emeh, announced on Wednesday that the name of the late Jordanian King Hussein will be given to one of the most important streets in Paris, which faces the Eiffel Tower, during the official visit to be carried out by King Abdullah II to France on November 15 through 18.
The French ambassador added that, "The Parisians have prepared a warm welcome to King Abdullah" and that Jordan does appreciate "this very French initiative towards the memory of the late King Hussein."
France was the first country to extend an invitation to King Abdullah II to officially visit it. This visit was extended by the French President Jacque Chirac during his participation in King Hussein's funeral last February.
