Saudi minister of petroleum hails Saudi-Iranian cooperation in energy

Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ibrahim Naimi came back to Riyadh from Tehran after a visit to Iran, during which he attended an international symposium regarding gas resources in the Gulf and met with Iranian President Mohammed Khatami. He also discussed with his Iranian counterpart means of boosting petroleum cooperation between the two countries.

Naimi said before leaving the Iranian capital that cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia restored stability to the international market in the energy field, saying that if joint policy was followed and the consultations between the two sides continued then there will greater stability in this market.

He said that Saudi policy is focused on using gas resources to the maximum degree and improving cooperation in the private sector as well attracting foreign investment.
