UN to provide aid to Nuba Mountains residents

The spokesman for the United Nations secretary general said yesterday that a $10 million program has been established to provide aid to those living in the Sudanese Nuba Mountains. The program will be part of the humanitarian Inter-Agency Consolidated Appeal for the Sudan for the year 2000.
This comes as the United Nations humanitarian mission to the Nuba Mountains transmitted its findings to the Sudanese government and the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army.
