Middle East peace discussed between Bin Ali and Moratinos

Tunisian President Zein al-Abidin bin Ali on Wednesday discussed with the European Union's Middle East peace process envoy, Miguel Moratinos, Middle East peace process developments and efforts made to give them a push forward.

Following his meeting with President Bin Ali on Wednesday, Moratinos said that the final phase of the peace process requires the exchange of viewpoints between the European Union and various sides in order to carry out a joint action that helps attain positive results for the peoples of the Middle East and their societies. He stressed the importance of ensuring help on the Palestinian-Israeli track, adding that his talks with Bin Ali dealt with the Syrian and Lebanese tracks.

Moratinos added that Bin Ali showed interest in the efforts made by the European Union and the US administration to resume negotiations between Syria and Israel.
